  11. I was using a USR Sportster 28.8 to connect to the Internet via the MS 
  12. TCP/IP. I could adjust the modem sound any way I wanted. But, since 
  13. upgrading to the 33.6 chip I seem to have lost control of the sound. 
  14. It's either off or too loud. No matter what string I insert under 
  15. Advanced the modem is either off or loud. I've tried L0, L1, I've 
  16. tried setting the modem volume under Modem/Properties but no go. 
  17. Anyone else had this problem--or is it a feature? I sort of miss 
  18. hearing my modem faintly in the background---now it's like a tidal 
  19. wave.
